Read this passage: A country's government is designed to balance power
between the legislative and executive branches. Every two
years, citizens may vote for leaders to represent them in a
national legislature with the ability to pass laws. Every six
years, however, citizens vote for the head of the powerful
executive branch, which enforces the law. This means that
the legislative and executive branches are often led by
members of political parties with different beliefs and
values.
