Describe the purpose of the maryland act of toleration and explain how it did not live up to its name

The purpose of the Maryland Act of Toleration was to protect Trinitarian Christians from persecution; therefore, to provide religious freedom to all those who believed in Jesus Christ.

This law did not live up to its name since it stated that anyone who denied or disrespected in any way: Jesus Christ, Godfather and or the Holy Trinity, shall be punished. Consequently, the act did not accomplish its main goal that was religious toleration.
