make an angel food cake. He had never made one, but his brother had sent him a recipe, so he gave it try. Something went terribly wrong
the cake was a total flop! Instead of the light, fluffy cake the recipe promised, it was a sunken, spongy mass of mush. It was two days
before the competition. If he didn't figure out what had gone wrong with his angel food cake, his Clark County Fair best-cake-baker
reputation would be ruined! He decided to investigate. First he checked that he had the correct temperature on his oven. Then he checked
his cooking time. Then he took a careful look at the ingredients to make sure he got them all right. Wait! The recipe calls for 12 egg whites.
Is that right? Not 12 whole eggs? Did he use whole eggs, or just the whites (or maybe just the yolks!)? He couldn't remember. He made the
recipe again, this time using only egg whites. He followed the rest of recipe exactly as directed. When the cake timer went off, he carefully
pulled a beautiful, fluffy cake out of the oven! He was overjoyed. But he couldn't take any chances. He now had one day left to make sure his
cake would be perfect for the day of the competition. He made the cake again with 12 egg whites. Perfect! So, was it really the addition of
egg yolks that had destroyed his cake? He was curious, so he used 11 egg whites and one whole egg. Bad idea - the cake wasn't fluffy at all.
He went back to using only egg whites. Perfect again! Finally, on the day
of the competition, he baked a beautiful, fluffy angel food cake. He
won! Now the entire county begs for his angel food cake.

Uranium has two naturally occurring isotopes. 238u has a natural abundance of 99.3% and 235u has an abundance of 0.7%. it is the rarer 235u that is needed for nuclear reactors. the isotopes are separated by forming uranium hexafluoride uf6, which is a gas, then allowing it to diffuse through a series of porous membranes. 235uf6 has a slightly larger rms speed than 238uf6 and diffuses slightly faster. many repetitions of this procedure gradually separate the two isotopes. what is the ratio of the rms speed of 235uf6 to that of 238uf6? express your answer to five significant figures.
