11. Lets say I drop a rock and it accelerates downward towards the ground at 10
m/sec. If instead I throw the rock downward instead of just dropping it.
Would the rock's acceleration once it leaves your hand, be larger, smaller, or
the same as if I just dropped the rock (assume there is no air resistance).
Explain your reasoning.

12. NASA scientists design a lunar rover. They test the speed of the rover and
measure it to be 3.6 m/sec on Earth. They send it to the moon which has a
different acceleration due to gravity than on Earth. Does the lunar rover have
the same moment, less momentum, or more momentum on the moon
compared to Earth? Explain your reasoning.

13. You go on vacation with your family to Jurassic World. While you are there
the unthinkable happens and the dinosaurs are loose. You run and hide in the
kitchen and see that a dinosaur is headed your way. The door is open and
you want to close it but you don't want to leave your hiding spot. You have
two things in your pocket, a rubber ball and a small clump of clay (both with
identical mass). The rubber ball will bounce off of whatever you throw it at,
whereas the clay will stick to whatever you throw it at. Which do you use to
throw at the door? Explain. If both have the same result, state so explicitly.

14. A grandmother takes her grandchild roller skating. The grandmother swoops
the grandchild up as shown in the picture below. The grandmother has a
mass of mg = 80 kg and an initial velocity of 6 m/sec and the child has a mass
of me 40 kg. After the grandmother swoops up their grandchild, how fast
are the moving?
