An object is subject to the potential v(x) = ae-x/b. it starts at position x = 0 with an initial kinetic energy t0. a is a positive number.
i found the force f(x) to be (a/b)e-x/b and found the equilibrium positions do not exist because ln 0 is undefined. i calculated the turning point to be x = -(b/ln(e/
how do i sketch v(x) and total energy, e?
how do i sketch f(x)?
how would i then describe the motion of the object?
since the equilibrium position doesn't exist, wouldn't that mean the object continues moving forever?
