At Ellis Island, the immigrants were mostly European, once entered Ellis Island, they are given a physical exam, after the exam their documents are to be checked for any criminal backgrounds, they undergo barely any stressful questions and only kept for a few days, the workers at Ellis Island were not racist and the Island was well kept and clean, the exams were not hard to pass and before the Island closed, around 17 million immigrants went through Ellis Island.

The immigrants at Angel Island were primarily Asian, they'd undergo harsh questioning, with racist interrogators and terrible questions, the interrogators sometimes held up the immigrants on Angel Island for 2 years! During that time, some immigrants decided to take their own life due to the terrible conditions of the island, there is now a graveyard holding those lost people caught up in racial discrimination.

Basically, Ellis Island was a lot better than Angel Island lol
