The Central Pacific Railroad was a rail track between California and Utah built eastwards from the West Coast in the 1860s. The crews were mainly composed by Chinese workers lured to America first by the California gold and then by railroad jobs. While the Union Pacific Railroad was built westwards from Omaha.
