Swahili is the lingua franca of East Africa and South Eastern Africa. It is also known as Kiswahili which means coastal language. It is spoken in Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo and in the Comoros islands. It is a Bantu language that uses or borrows words from the Arabic language.
