Now it's time to write.
You've spent a few days reading and learning about the importance of diversity and the ways in which having one's
identity recognized, accepted, and celebrated has positive consequences for individuals and society. Reflecting on
what you've read and learned, and in a response of at least two paragraphs, make a connection between the key
ideas in the articles and your own personal experience or the real world, in general

basic principles: federalism, separation of powers, checks and balances, judicial review, representative democracy, limited government, rule of law, individual rights and responsibilities, consent of the governed, majority rule, popular sovereignty, equal protection.

the iconic cartoon that you are talking about is probably a man standing on top of a country with his legs spread wide. 

this cartoon suggests that europeans are powerful enough to subdue an entire continent. this was a satirical image that was drawn during the time of the colonization of the british empire in africa.

this image was inspired by the plans of the british empire to create telegraph lines all over africa promoting the further spread of its colonies through faster communication. the picture depicts the colonial mentality of the british empire in general as well as the struggle of africans to claim their own land. hope this !
