What was the significance of the following events: Tennis Court Oath, Storming of The Bastille, Women’s March.

The Tennis Court Oath was a pivotal moment leading up to the French Revolution, as members of the third estate agreed amongst themselves to not separate until a constitution was established. This was important because it established a goal amongst French revolutionaries- to create a constitutional monarchy.

The storming of the Bastille was significant because the Bastille served as a symbol for despotism and monarchy, as French kings held prisoners that spoke out against monarchs there. This would mark what many see as the 'official' start of the French revolution.

The women's march on Versailles was important, as it marked a turn in the revolution. The rioting crowd of over 60,000 people demanded bread and for the royal family to relocate from Versailles to Paris, to which they obliged. This showed the people of France that they could influence the King's decisions, and that a constitutional monarchy was possible.
