Put the events surrounding the ratification of the U. S. Constitution in order by numbering them 1 through 6. Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, and New Hampshire ratified the Constitution. Nine states had ratified the document, but leaders still wanted to get approval from all 13 states.

Congress added the Bill of Rights to the Constitution.

The last 2 states, North Carolina and Rhode Island, ratified the Constitution.

The newly drafted Constitution was sent to the states for ratification. It needed to be approved by 9 of the 13 states.

Delegates in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Connecticut, and New Jersey quickly approved the Constitution.

New York and Virginia agreed to ratify the Constitution, but each wrote a long list of amendments it wanted included in a bill of rights.
