The map shows the spread of religions across Europe in the 1500s. Map of Religions in Europe in 1560. Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Calvinist, Anglican, Eastern Orthodox, Mixed, Calvinist, Islam and Catholic religions are shown. The latter 3 are in the minority. Based on the map, which had occurred by 1560? Anglicanism had spread from England across Western Europe into small pockets in Eastern Europe. Germany had become mostly Lutheran as a result of the strong Protestant influence. France had become mostly Calvinist as a result of Calvinism spreading across central Europe. Lutheranism was the dominant religion in Austria and was practiced by most of the people who lived there.
