The Declaration of Independence was the freedom between America and England. It was written in order to state the reasons for the political separation of the British colonies on mainland North America from the control of London. Some groups involved were Rebel, Allegiance to the Congress — joined in or supported the fighters  Loyalist, Allegiance to the Crown— joined in or supported the fighters  (aka Tories.) Some key battles were Battles of Lexington and Concord (April of 1775) -  Battle of Yorktown (October of 1781) - Battles of Trenton and Princeton (Winter of 1776-1777) -  Battle of Fort Washington (November of 1776) -  Battle of Bunker Hill (June of 1775) - and many more. An advantage they had was that they fought on their own ground which was huge because they knew the land very well and they knew where everything was. Another advantage was having a widespread acquaintance with Firearms.  This was one of the top most important ones because having an acquaintance with firearms meant that they had firearms and they had more than the British. Some Advatages the British had were Being disciplined and being well trained gave the soldiers the mind set of not running from anything or towards anything. As well as  having the best Navy which was a huge advantage of having supply lines and they had a better chance of protecting the coast so the Americans couldn't bombard them. Lasty France's commitment to the Colonies took the form of two treaties. The Treaty of Alliance established a military partnership between France and the United States in which both parties agreed to refuse individual peace agreements with England and established that any future peace agreement would be conditioned on the Colonies' independence.

The main purpose of America's Declaration of Independence was to explain to foreign nations why the colonies had chosen to separate themselves from Great Britain.

Britain's military was the best in the world. Their soldiers were well equipped, well disciplined, well paid, and well fed.

France provided the money, troops, armament, military leadership, and naval support that tipped the balance of military power in favor of the United States and paved the way for the Continental Army's ultimate victory, which was sealed at Yorktown, VA, five years after Franklin embarked on his mission.

Despite their weaknesses, there were still strengths the Americans could rely on. One strength was the patriotism of their people. Many colonists willingly gave their lives to defend their liberty, homes, children, families, and friends.
