Europeans generally moved to have a new start of life or to strike it rich, while others were forced to go because of overcrowded prison systems. Africans were generally forced into bondage across the ocean, and would endure hardships not only out at sea but also in their new "homes". The Trade overall helped build up US market trading, and opened the US to European technology, products, as well as culture.
