What term best characterizes the harlem renaissance?

The Harlem Renaissance was a time when people came out of the south and brought forth what other Americans would later call the Harlem Renaissance, this is when people came out with music, sang, and dance became prevalent in this time so the term I would use would be passionate because that is what the people from the south are
