You are in charge of inmates in the prison that have committed crimes involving drugs and or alcohol, or are considered drug addicts or alcoholics. It is your job to try and prepare for these inmates to be successful after their sentence has been served. You will be in charge of the inmate schedules for drug addicts/alcoholics for a 6 month period in a prison facility. After 4 months, you can place them in a work release center/halfway house. You would still be in charge of their day to day activities and schedule.

You have been hired for 6 months. ***Whether or not you are rehired will depend upon on recidivism rates of the inmates you are supervising. RECIDIVISM IS THE BIG PROBLEM WE ARE TRYING TO SOLVE !!!

1. What would be the name of your program? Does the name of the program have significance or meaning?

2. Write a mission statement for your program? (a summary of the aims and goals of your program—5-7 sentences)

3. Many inmates will resist help, assistance, and education. How will you convince addicts that participating in the program will benefit them? How can you offer them incentives or rewards (list 3 ways they can benefit).
