(6) The planning group should include people committed and willing to make time for the community garden. (7) Next, it's important to find a location for the garden. (8) Some local governments set aside lots for people to use as community gardens. (9) Some organizations help people rent or purchase spaces for gardening. (10) Once the location is chosen, the final step is to decide the layout or structure of the garden. (11) For example, some gardens use wooden crates to plant vegetables or fruits. (12) Other gardens arrange plants in rows in small plots in the ground. (13) Based on the layout, people can begin planting in the garden.
