(4) Scientists believe that talking to one’s self is not only normal but also good. (5) It is a good way to calm down after a hard day. (6) Doctors from Toronto University in Canada believe that people who talk to themselves have more self-control. (7) In turn, this keeps people from making bad choices. (8) By putting thoughts into words, people can solve problems more clearly. (9) People who talk to themselves are usually more confident, too.

(10) On the other hand, some people talk to themselves in front of others. (11) Most people think this is crazy. (12) There is a better reason to avoid self-talk around others, though. (13) People may say things out loud that are better left in their heads. (14) Saying “Those are really long nose hairs!” to one's self while standing in front of Grandpa may not go over well.
