I hate to say this, but my own aunt is a Karen. I was 13 when this happened. My aunt had made a reservation at a hotel for a trip that me, my mom, my dad, her, and my cousin were going on, but when we got there the lady at the desk said there was some error with the reservation and that my auntsā€™s payment didnā€™t go through. So, the lady offered us a double bedroom for a discount.

Rather than just taking the room, thanking the lady, and leaving, my aunt decided the best course of action would be to scream, in the middle of a hotel lobby, 'NOBODY IS GOING ANYWHERE TIL I GET MY FREAKING ROOM!'

She then proceeded to pester the lady, who clearly couldnā€™t do anything about it, until eventually she called the police on my aunt for public disturbance. Mortifying.

Excerpt from jane eyre charlotte bronte 2 i was glad of it: i never liked long walks, especially on chilly afternoons: dreadful to me was the coming home in the raw twilight, with nipped fingers and toes, and a heart saddened by the chidings of bessie, the nurse, and humbled by the consciousness of my physical inferiority to eliza, john, and georgiana reed.
