Manuel was ready for the big day. He was going to make history by competing in the prestigious race of Speed Extraordinaire. Nobody from his small town had ever made it to even the pre-qualifying stage. The day before, he ate the healthiest meals his mother prepared for him and relaxed with his family between practices. They all wished him luck and waited eagerly for the next day. Manuel was ready for tomorrow. He had done everything right the day before, and he went to bed feeling great. He set his alarm to go off at five and closed his eyes. Manuel felt so much at ease than when he tried to shut his mind for the day, it refused. The battle between his desire to sleep and his mind to stay in a relaxed but awake state was too strong. Before Manuel knew it, minutes turned into hours, and the clock struck four.

A.

B.
