Many people think psychologists and psychiatrists are the same kind of doctors, but while both are concerned with mental health, their training and practices are different.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor. Psychiatrists work with severe cases of mental illness and focus on managing medication for their patients. Psychologists, on the other hand, usually have a doctoral degree in psychology. They are trained to diagnose types of mental illness and work in therapy with patients to modify their behaviors.
