In chapter four of the great gatsby , Jordan Baker describes the initial relationship between Daisy and Gatsby in a scene critical to understanding Gatsby’s past and his current desire to be with Daisy. Following this scene, Nick tells us, “He came alive to me, delivered suddenly from the womb of his purposeless splendor.” We are finally learning Gatsby’s motives. For Gatsby, include what he might have written in the letter to Daisy before her marriage to Tom. What would he have said to her? Would it be a plea to wait, or would it be a break-up letter? This is his last chance. A letter should include a greeting at the beginning and a goodbye at the end.
