Sitting on top of the woman is gremlin-like monkey figure with a calm look on his face. Despite being perched on top of the woman's chest, he does not seem to want to harm her, but almost appears to be guarding the corpse.

Another figure can be seen lurking behind an orange curtain, but it is not clear what it represents other than a sinister form since it has horns and a grotesque shape.

I think the painting is very interesting and makes a perfect piece for interpretation and analysis of symbolism.
