-It will facilitate effective communication with both your peers and your elders since it will provide you with several options and choice of words that will facilitate their comprehension of your utterances and conceptualizations.  

-It will allow you to live a fuller, more plentiful life since a larger vocabulary will allow you to understand, perceive and enjoy artistic expressions that utilize colorful, exotic words that are not used in common parlance.

-It will facilitate your access to employment as employers do appreciate proper diction and an articulate vocabulary and expression.
