Read the excerpt. from “life in a love” by robert browning but what if i fail of my purpose here? it is but to keep the nerves at strain, to dry one’s eyes and laugh at a fall, and, baffled, get up and begin again,— so the chase takes up one’s life, that’s all. what do these lines show about the speaker and his attempt to gain the woman’s love? he will never give up the pursuit of his beloved. he accepts that he will die if she does not return his affection. he will find a new love if she does not care for him. he views his efforts to win her affection as silly.
