What are the features of EGFR Gene Editing? EGFR is a recognized regulator of the oncogenic phenotype. Overexpression of EGFR has been reported and implicated in the pathogenesis of many human malignancies including lung cancer, head and neck, bladder cancer, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer. Some studies have reported that EGFR overexpression is associated with advanced disease, poor chemosensitivity, and prognosis. In view of the functional involvement of EGFR in a variety of cellular processes, several approaches targeting and interfering with EGFR-mediated have been developed.
