So, why is it like this?

We know that a plague is a infectious and super contagious disease that can be transmitted by infected fleas, and is known for killing many people.

So, it makes sense that because this plague happened, we would see a price of grain drop, since the amount of workers were shortened from the plague, and there are less people to buy the grain for the factories and businesses to gain the money from the people's shopping of grains.

That has the production slowed down, so there is less food and grain, and the population would decrease as people were dying from the plague.

This results in the Italians making wine, oil, and cheese to combat the plague.

I'm sorry if this is wrong, and hopefully the article tells you in order the events that occurred. This is my best guess, and what makes sense to me.
