Distinction by Pattern

Distinction by Color and Geographic Region
Colorful clothes have always been a way to celebrate culture and heritage. Africa is especially known for its brightly colored traditional outfits. Clothing is also a way for people to celebrate religious or traditional festivals. For example, Japanese people wear colorful kimonos for formal occasions and festivals.

Other traditional clothing is made of materials common to the area. In the extreme cold regions of the Arctic, Innuit people wore clothes made of fur and sealskin to keep warm. In the United States, native people of the plains often wore moccasins and leggings made from buffalo skin.
