This is a type of assessment where the child is observed based on how he behaves around his playmates and the common people that he encounters every day without altering his normal everyday environment. Formal standardized assessments are usually given in sets of tests and were usually created by researchers. This type of assessment is usually cross-referenced with standard, ideal norms.
