According to the national women's law center, women enter the workforce earning 88 percent of what men do. over their career, this comes to a $464,320 difference.

The Gap Wage is still a great issue for the Women's Right Movement, as women are paid less than me for the same job with the same qualification. This gap comes from old prejudices, of course, but even in a new field, a study confirmed that as soon as women enter in large numbers, the average wage declines, leading to the conclusion that women are paid less because they are women. 

To reduce the gap wage and achieve equality, there are actions that are possible to take, like enforced equal pay law,  providing affordable childcare and parental leave, and ensure the access to affordable reproductive health care.
