a. try not to think of the worst things that can happen.
b. usually hear the negative thoughts we think.
c. ignore the fears that trigger it.
d. let it turn into imagined risks.

I think that the best answer is the first one:

if we try not to think about the bad things that can happen (like, any time a meteor can fall on us!) then we avoid many negative emotions, and hence the negative self-talk won't be fueled by them!
