Hoppy has two grandparents who suffered from osteoporosis, and lately his father has been given the same diagnosis. he has been advised by his doctor that one of the best ways to prevent this illness is to consume foods that are high in calcium. if hoppy wants to get right to work at avoiding osteoporosis, what will he have with dinner tonight?

Hoppy's grandparents will be having the following for dinner;

•2.5 oz. Salmon (Calcium rich)

•3/4 cup integral rice (Magnesium e )  

•green salad with low-calorie ricotta cheese dressing (Calcium rich)

•8 oz. Yogurt with fruit   (Vitamin D3 and Calcium)

Osteoporosis is a low calcium count in bones which makes them weak and prone to facture. There are some risk factors such as alcoholism, smoking, and old age.  There are several key nutrients adults need to supply their bodies with to make their bones strong. Calcium is an important component of bone tissue and vitamin D3 helps with calcium absorption. Magnesium plays a role in building strong bones too.  Eating a variety of healthy foods can help you get enough Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin D on a daily basis.  Nutrients are important to the absorption of Calcium and people with osteoporosis should include Calcium rich food and Vitamin D in their diet.
