There were several reasons why the Spanish conquerors succeed when arriving what now we call Peru. The Spanish invaded the Inca region in the sixteen century with the advantage of having technological superiority and more. Not only had the Spanish fire guns but also animals: dogs and especially, horses, which Incans didn’t know about and were scared by. The Incas would see them coming from the sea, riding unknown animals, shooting guns whose sound was too similar to thunders - which some theorists say it felt for them just like the god's rage.  

The Spanish used cannons and arquebuses, and spread fear among the Incans. These elements compared to the bows and arrows, the macanas, the lances and the blackjacks that the Incas had, made a considerable difference between them.  

The weapons they had were the key to their superiority against the aborigines. The one that played a major role in the defeat was not the tanks nor the landmines but definitely the artillery in general.
