Compare criminal and civil law as they apply to the practicing medical assistant

The medical assistant needs to understand the difference between the types of law (how these laws affect the physician´s medical practice). Medical assistants must review the laws that influence medical assistant practice (to make sure that these laws are followed on a constant basis). Example: Documentation to present in a courtroom.

Criminal law governs violations punishable as offenses against the state. And Civil law is concerned with acts that involve relationships with individuals, groups, or the government.
