Internet Gaming Disorder is a proposed new psychological disorder. Some of the proposed symptoms of Internet Gaming Disorder include: 1) preoccupation with Internet games, 2) withdrawal symptoms of irritability, anxiety, or sadness when gaming is taken away, 3) tolerance—the need to spend more time playing, 4) unsuccessful attempts to control the amount of game playing, 5) loss of interest in other hobbies and entertainment, 6) excessive participation in Internet gaming despite social or occupational problems. With these criteria in mind, do you think this should become a psychological disorder? Why or why not?
