In today's society, there are many responsibilities and distractions that require a person's attention. On a daily basis, most people focus upon issues of work, their household, their finances, and other ordinary aspects of daily life. Few have time to think about religion, the meaning of life, or other supernatural issues. In Emile Durkheim's view, the issues focused on are:
