In 1832, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that state law did not apply to the Cherokee nation in Georgia, and that the Cherokee could not be removed from their land. Why was this decision not honored? A. The Cherokee decided that the land deal in Oklahoma was too profitable to pass up, so they decided moving was in the best interest of their nation.

B. The land their nation sat on was simply too valuable to the white settlers who along with the government forced them off of their native lands.

C. The Cherokee chose to move anyway; they just wanted confirmation from the court that they were right.

D. The Cherokee made a deal with the government that if they were allowed to stay for 5 additional years, then they would move onto the new land in Oklahoma.
