Globalization describes the growing economic, political, and social interconnectedness among societies throughout the world. The 2014 outbreak of Ebola in Liberia and the subsequent panic in the United
States when Thomas Duncan flew to Texas from Liberia, and thus brought Ebola to the United States,
exemplifies a negative aspect of globalization.
