The American Gospel music has its roots in the black oral tradition of the African American church. During the 19th century, African American churches started to include in their worships Gospel music which fused the African-American spirituals, hymns as well as sacred songs. However, some years later, the traditional Gospel music evolved into Gospel Blues which was a new style of Gospel with a combination of blues and jazz.
