A study of 343 depressed people found that those who felt rejected or neglected by their PARENTS  as children were more likely than others to attempt suicide as adults.
According to the study, this indicate that parents played a really important role in shaping their child's sense of personal worth/value.
If the parents do not value their children by not giving them enough attention, the children will most likely feel the same
