How true to life do you think television shows such as CSI or Law & Order are in their portrayals of eyewitnesses?

In CSI / Law & Order, the eyewitnesses often portrayed as a person who can remember the crime events down to the smaller details, even if they're in an extremely traumatic events.  In real world, this is not the case. It's very hardy for a person to recall events that happen a week ago, let alone for months while waiting for trials.

Currently, around 75% of false convictions that exist in United States is caused by false information from Eye Witnesses, while the remaining 25 was miscalculation made by the prosecutors.
