În perioada medievală, conducătorul statului (domnitorul) era stăpânul țării, poporul fiind considerat a fi format din supușii săi. Începând cu epoca modernă, atunci când statele sunt conduse pe baza unor constituții, conducătorii (regi, președinți etc.) au puterea limitată de legi, iar poporul este format din cetățeni egali în drepturi. Comparați, pe baza textului, statutul persoanei (omului de rând) din epoca medievală cu cel al persoanei din epoca modernă. Cine limitează puterea conducătorului în prezent? Va rog este urget
