So when Stephen F Austin was creating and building up his colony he wanted people that would follow his rules and demands. People came willling knowing they would be ordered to follow his rules. But, they agreed for the good deal on the land prices and the resources to grow a farm or participate in ranching. He wanted colonist that would obide by the rules and also colonist that were strong hard workers. He did not want lazy people that came to his colony just for the benift. He wanted people that would work hard and also provide for stephen F Austin himself.
