What is the difference between the due process protections in the fifth amendment and the Fourteenth amendment, and why is it significant?

Fifth Amendment, which forbids Congress to deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment established a constitutional guarantee of basic citizenship for all Americans. In other words, due process under the 5th and 14th Amendments stands for the principle that the government must respect the fundamental rights owed to citizens according to the law. The difference is the 5th amendment protects the rights of someone who is suspected of a crime and the 14th amendment protects a citizen from unreasonable control by the government.
