What was the impact did European exploration have on American Indians in Georgia?

Europeans came to Georgia at the time looking mostly for gold and they were not interested in befriending or helping Native Americans much. One of the most tragic outcomes of the expedition was during Hernando de Soto’s march through Georga, as it resulted in thousand deaths. Even though there were more Native Americans than Spanish people, they did not have armor and weapons as Europeans had.

Sadly the most important impact that exploration had was the spread of many diseases. Native Americans did not have immunity to many European diseases that seemed common to explorers, such as smallpox, pneumonia, influenza, etc. Therefore, when the expedition infected them, many of them grew very sick and died.
