Explain the strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation? Why was there a need to replace the Articles?

Among the strengths of the Articles of Confederation were, open trade from state to state, postal system, make war and peace, currency, build a navy, democratic system or model, and the ability to borrow money.

Among its weaknesses were one vote per state, no supreme court, no power to tax, could not regulate interstate trade, debt and no ability to pay, amend unanimous vote, and no executive branch.

The need to replace it would be because it failed to do many things that our National Government, now provides. It was ill-prepared to be a model and was therefore scrapped.
