The principle point of punishment is elimination and retribution.Retribution is alluded to that the criminal face discipline for his wrongdoing and prevention implies individuals scared from punishments.  

retribution aims to guarantee the Justice by punishing the criminals for their crimes. Whereas, prevention centers around that individuals feel scared on doing wrong or misconduct because of punishment.  

The current pattern of Justice concentrated more on prevention than retribution.
