Well it certainly supports the principle of separation of powers. the liberty of the general public is greatly at risk when one branch has a monopoly on all the power. history has shown us time and time again that 'absolute power corrupts absolutely,' a single branch of government with all the power is sure to abuse it, thereby damaging liberty for all. the three branches provides a check to the potential for that kind of abuse of power
