The misleading use of a term with more than one meaning (by glossing over which meaning is intended at a particular time) ex:
1) A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Therefore, a bird is worth more than President Bush.
2) Example: Evolution states that one species can change into another. We see that cars have evolved into different styles. Therefore, since evolution is a fact in cars, it is true in species.
3) "Giving money to charity is the right thing to do. So charities have a right to our money."
4) Only man is rational. No woman is a man. Therefore, no woman is rational. example: No one who has the slightest acquaintance with science can reasonably doubt that the miracles in the Bible actually took place. Every year we witness countless new miracles in the form recombinant DNA, micro-chips, organ transplants, and the like. (the word "miracle" does not have the same meaning in each case)
