Texas, as one of the States in America was having challenges due to politicians being induced financially or otherwise through lobbying, gifts etc. Then, there was a raging debate whether it was ethical for a politician's family member to receive gifts from people who have interest in some cases which the politician could possibly influence.

In order to solve this issue, a law was passed in 1785 which was effective September 1, 2019 by the Texas Legislature. Some of the law include registration of the lobbying group, payment of some fees and setting of thresholds on amount that can be offered to a politician.
